NDNA Maths Champions is a programme which supports children and staff by embedding maths into play and activities.

This is led by our Maths Champion; its aim is to build confidence in maths among children and practitioners.

This innovative online training provided by the NDNA, supports all aspects of Maths in our setting

  • improving the confidence levels of our team and
  • reducing the fear of learning, understanding, and teaching of maths.
  • Providing us with a wide range of resources that our Maths Champion can access.

This enables us to demonstrate how we provide activities and experience which improves outcomes for Maths for the children in our setting.

The Maths programme starts with the setting evaluating our current practice to enable us to measure the impact and the sustained improvement that the Maths Champions Programme will provide.

Lucy our Maths Champion has been working hard over the last few months in developing a designated Maths Area for the cabin/3-5. She has taken into account and used the ideas that she has been provided with throughout her training to develop this area.

Lucy has also completed a Maths audit of the whole setting, and with this information from the audit she will start to work and support other practitioners in supporting children of all ages in their mathematical learning.
