St George’s Day in England remembers St George, England’s patron saint. The anniversary of his death, which is on April 23, is seen as England’s national day. According to legend, he was a soldier in the Roman army who killed a dragon and saved a princess.
We also combined this celebration with the Queens 1st Birthday. Queen Elizabeth II was born on 21 April 1926, but she has another official birthday, which is usually celebrated on the second Saturday of June; this year being the 9th. We also enjoyed the tea party for the Queen’s birthday and also had some dancing in the garden and party games to follow.
The children had a lovely day!
